What is the mission of the WSU Incinerator?

The WSU Incinerator supports Washington State University's missions by managing the Universities Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Research medical and pathalogical waste stream in an efficient, effective and safe manner.

Can I bring my confidential records to the Incinerator to be burned?

The types of waste that can be burned at the WSU Incinerator are closely regulatied and minimzied through the application of the Waste Management Plan. The Incinerator cannot burn confidentail records.  However, University Recycling has several options available to dispose of confidential records.

Can I bring my waste from home so that it can be incinerated?

For legal and logistical reasons, the WSU Incinerator only burns wastes from official WSU sources and cannot accept non-university waste. Please check with your local waste hauler or landfill site to see what services they provide.
