Cougar Pride Days has historic roots from Campus Days, held in the early years (1913-1933) of WSU. WSU was founded in 1890. In the early 1900s, a Campus Day was held each spring. It was a time during which students, faculty and staff worked together on improving and beautifying campus for spring. Projects undertaken ranged from building new roads and installing sidewalks to planting trees and putting in lawns.
